Aquila’s Big 5 Combo Safari Tour offers guests from Cape Town the perfect opportunity to experience a traditional, 2 to 3 hour South African vehicle game drive, while maximising your wildlife adventure with an additional 1 to 2 hour horseback or quad bike safari outride – all in one day! 

Enjoy a great diversity of wildlife and immerse yourself in the untamed beauty of Aquila’s 10 000 hectare Karoo game reserve. With two safari tours in a single day (morning game drive + afternoon safari outride), guests have double the chance to see Africa’s iconic big five animals, capture stunning wildlife photos, and experience the true wonders of the Karoo’s natural fauna and flora.

Maximum weight limit: 95kg (horseback) and 150kg (quad bike)

Wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed

Additional Information
Day Trip Transport:

Transport must be booked before 3pm for next-day arrivals. Please note that pick-up times provided for day-trip transport options are estimates only.

Standard Aquila full day between 05:45am and 06:45am.

Your final pick-up time will be confirmed the day prior to your safari experience.

  • Age 3 and under: no charge with accompanying adult;
  • Age 11 and under: 50% of the adult rate;
  • Age 12 and over: pay full price. 

Pick-Up and Drop-Off:

Pick up locations and times will be confirmed by a transport co-ordinator subject to routes, bookings and road detours the evening before your scheduled departure date. Please ensure your contact details (provided at the time of your booking) are accurate and valid for South Africa.

Pick up zones include: Cape Town CBD, Camps Bay and Bakoven.

Guests staying in other areas will be directed to the nearest designated collection point.

All guests are required to provide passport/identification.
