Afternoon Big 5 Safari

Our Cape Town safari has been rated as one of the Top 10 day trip destinations by Sawubona Magazine and Time Out Magazine. Aquila’s 22-seater safari vehicles are led by experienced field guides, giving guests a great chance of spotting the Big Five and other local wildlife.

Your guide will take you through Aquila’s 10,000-hectare reserve, sharing insight into the landscape and animals along the way.

The afternoon safari takes place as the day cools down and wildlife becomes more active again. It’s a relaxed drive with good chances of sightings, along with softer light across the reserve.

A structured big 5 safari experience with time for both guided activity and downtime.

Transport Information

Day Trip Transport

Transport must be booked before 15:00 for next-day arrivals. Please note that pick-up times provided for day trips are estimates only.

Standard Aquila full-day departures are scheduled between 05:45 and 06:45. Your final pick-up time will be confirmed the day before your safari experience.

  • Children aged 3 and under: free with accompanying adult
  • Children aged 4–11: 50% of the adult rate
  • Ages 12 and above: full adult rate

  • Return transport can be added as an optional extra
  • All guests are required to provide valid identification (passport/ID)
  • Wheelchair-accessible transport is available on request

Pick-up & Drop-off

Pick-up locations and times will be confirmed by your transport coordinator the evening prior to departure, based on routes, bookings, and any road conditions. Please ensure your contact details are accurate and up to date.

Pick-up zones include: Atlantic Seaboard, Cape Town CBD, Camps Bay & Hout Bay, Southern Suburbs, Gardens, Woodstock, Tygerberg, West Coast, and the Cape Winelands.

Guests staying outside these areas will be directed to the nearest designated collection point. Private, luxury, or air transfers can be arranged on request after booking.
